Andy Gadd –Managing Director

Beginning his career as an apprentice pipe fitter welder, Andy Gadd has been in the engineering and construction trade for nearly forty years. His career has enabled him to experience the industry from a variety of standpoints, from fabrication work to site supervisor roles to general management.

Prior to establishing Valley Reinforcement, Andy Gadd notably spent 11 years in the family business at Basing Developments Ltd, during which time he oversaw all aspects of the company's building, civil engineering, roofing, cladding and steel fabrication work to create a highly regarded operation.

Rising through the ranks, Andy is as committed to his trade today as he has ever been. The success of VR is largely down to his unwavering ability to deliver to client requirements and build teams of committed talented staff. Looking to the future, Andy will be working to ensure that the core values upon which VR has been built are successfully carried into future generations. With the day to day running of the business under the control of the Key members of staff below, Andy is confident in the future success of the business.

Katie-Mae Baker - Reinforcement & Handrail Sales

Katie started working in the office helping her father whenever possible, and gained a good understanding of the working environment and the dedication needed to run a family business. Katie's first career love was travel and tourism. With qualifications and an extensive background in the travel industry, she has worked at both Cardiff and Southampton International Airports. Kate's role within the business is diverse from Sales of Reinforcement & Structural Steel, implementing new policies and procedures to the running of the fundraising side of the business for Help for Heads.

Sara Pettitt - Business Development Manager

Prior to joining forces with VR in 2008, Sara established and developed successful engineering business, Four-Tees Engineers Ltd. Her career, which spans 25 years in the construction industry, also includes a good deal of work in the financial sector as an accounting technician. Now, Sara is using her rounded skills and experience to build on VR's success for the future.

Simon Foreman - Contract Manager 

Simon Joined VR in 2014 having spent most of his working life as a steel erector. Simon had been working alongside VR when the opportunity came up for Simon to move across to VR his knowledge and insight into Steel Erection being of great benefit to VR.

Simons role takes on many forms from bringing in new clients, dealing with site labour as well as pricing new work.

Paul Trigg - Roofing & Cladding Contract Manager

Paul has been an employee of VR for a few years having started his career as our Lorry Driver. Paul worked his way into the Roofing and Cladding division where he has progressed from strength to strength. When the opportunity for Paul to further his position became available he quickly took on his role as the Contract Manager.

Jim Davidson - Draughtsman

Not to be confused with the Comedian, Jim joined VR in late 2013. Having many years experience behind him in the industry Jim's knowledge in his field is of great benefit to VR. With many projects under his belt, some standard and some unusual Jim always gives his work 100%.

Tom Clarke - Contract Manager

Tom has been working his way through the business starting out on site to now being in the office as a Contract Manager. Tom works alongside all departments within VR and manages some of our bigger clients. Toms Skills and knowledge in the safety side of the industry are an important part to his role.

Chris Morris – Foreman

Leaving school, Chris began work as an apprentice for Vosper Ship Repairers. Here he gained his qualifications as a boiler maker. He later trained as a fabricator welder and has stayed in the structural steel industry since. A well respected foreman for nearly 25 years, Chris joined VR in 2008 and looks forward to many more years doing what he loves best.
